So I've been out since April 3 and currently in Albuquerque NM getting some work caught up. The airhead is holding up wonderfully, stopped in Santa Fe to have the carbs adjusted and what a difference. Said I may be in need of a rebuild once I get back east. But other than that they said the bike is good to go. Bike rolled over the 50000 mark about a thousand miles back and I've put 10000 miles on the machine since I've left.

Brother and I hit up Montana 2 weeks ago which was a great ride even though the entire state of Wyoming was steady rain. There's something to be said of South Dakota. Been there before, but on a bike it's a total different experience. On the way back just in Nebraska, at the camp ground, found out a tornado warning was in effect and later that night sounded like canon fire was going off directly above us. Intimidating but what a rush waking up in a tent in the wee hours of the morning.

Currently planning on hitting up San Diego from here, look at the Pacific and head back east on I10. Width of Texas is staring me down. I'll get to hit my namesake at least. Of all the places in Texas I've been, never been to Houston.

Got to see a funnel cloud touch down for a moment in No Man's Land which was freaking cool, 4 to 5 miles off but out there it looks like it's right there.

Trip has been going smooth and safe, I'll get up some pix some time. The digital camera bit it in SD so I'm back to using disposables. How do you use these things?

I've got to see good friends and family while out and some quiet time to myself. The current route is by fire my longest ride solo from the panhandle of OK to the west coast and back which is going to be 5000+ miles back to WV. Hey another first is camping solo as well. It's not as fun drinking a couple of beers by yourself around the fire but no complaints you'll get from me.

I'll look into the carb rebuild when I get back and from there I plan on hitting up the NorthEast and the Mid North to have the continental US completed on a bike.

Till next time. h

Houston, great to hear from you and from the likes of it, you're having a great time! Will all this wandering eventually bring you down to Johnson City for the Rally next month?

Jon, what's up man? I am planning on being in TN next month. I was worried a paper show back in Pittsburgh was going to clash with the rally date but ended up being the following weekend. Let's get together for a beer.

Thanks guys, I'll keep a bit more updates than what I started a while back. Got to the northern rim of the grand canyon yesterday afternoon and may stay for another day or two. Can't beat the free camping in the national forest. Put up the tent in the cold and woke up in the cold. Fired up the bike and warmed up the hands with the exhaust. parking lot was absolutely full so I squeezed in next to a couple of beemers and shot the breeze for a bit.

Guess the next run will be the Vegas area. Been there before, got married, now divorced which makes it all that much easier to do this trip. Not saying I'm happy about the divorce, but one door closes and another opens...

THings have been good. Stopped by the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon this past Wednesday and camped in the National Forest. I planned on staying a couple of days but got pretty cold and didn't feel like dealing with it again. So headed back down to Jacob Lake where I talked for a bit with another rider who informed me of the rally in Panguitch Ut (redrock rendezvous). With not having an itinerary and Panquitch only being 90 miles away I decided that wouldn't be a bad idea. So I got to hit up my first rally which ended up being a weekend of knowledge and good times. Learned some things on the bike that I now can take care of myself, met great people and contacts on the road.

From there, headed to Vegas with Jay who lives there, and rode through Mt. Zion. Stayed at his place Sunday night and I found a decent deal on a couple nights on the strip. Told Jay he's more than welcome to stay with me so last night we did 18 hours of binge drinking and walking around. Got back to the room this morning about 7, got some sleep and plan on riding through some desert when he wakes up.

The bike's running better than ever, thanks to Dave and Andy stepping me through the valves adjustments and carb syncing. Plan on hooking up with Dave on the way back east through Phoenix once I get there.

Leaving Vegas tomorrow morning, and head my way to San Diego.

Wife and I both ride and have a small horse ranch, East of Clovis,CA...Look up Clovis on the chart! If you are interested in Central CA., you're welcome to "camp" free here, as we have shade, cool nights(50-60s), hotter days(to 90s-100). Sequoia NP(40 miles) and Yosemite NPs(80m.) are very closeby....Airhead here too,R100/7 and KLR650, GSA1200. A biker garage:). You can post a private message here if you need or 559-288-2555C...I may be working. I ride to Tennesse in a couple weeks. Randy:usa...PS; I know all the great roads leaving CA from here too, "back roads", mtn. passes:) for your pleasure, if time permits. Happy Trails to ya.:usa
