How many member would like to a change from the standart Rally Tee Shirt to something new.
Have been looking at all of my rally tee, 30 years worth. It wopuld be nice to see a Golf style shirt just for a change. Since next years rally is now getting underway, maybe we can get some input in this and have a change for OHIO.
:clap :clap
Poll: yes I vote for it.

I want a Friends of Wile E. Coyote shirt.
Never found one in 88 and haven't been back. Should make 05. Where will they be?

I'm trying to move away from Tshirts entirely.
Frigging things are hot in the summer and cold in the winter and they don't pack very small. I'm also getting tired of walking around looking like a billboard.
Your mileage may vary, of course. :D

I love tee shirts. My only requirement is something other than white. I never buy white Rally or Club tees anymore. They look like crap too soon after wearing them. Who would have known that a frozen margarita would stain? I prefer some small writing on the chest and a large multi-color logo on the back. I think Trenton's tee was great! Just, please start with a quality garment.
MarkF
P.S. Maybe the poll should ask if you are willing to pay $35 for a polo or golf shirt instead of $18 for a tee. A lot of us are cheap!

Spokane had several different shirt styles available, but all the same color (black). I've got enough black T-shirts. How about BMW Blue & White? I also prefer polo or golf type shirts to the basic T-shirt style.

I have 2 drawersful of t shirts....yeah,golf shirt(good quality) would be good.
I dont like a big silkscreened logo on the back,it makes me sweaty(I know,ah poor baby)( embroidered would be good) ,however, cost would be higher.

In my mid early 20's I collected T-shirts. I worked in radio, so I got lots of promotional t-shirts. When I met Jennifer I had 300 T-shirts. yup that is not a typographical error three hundred.
I have been parsing them down over the past few years. Now I am down to 200. I am continuing to parse them down, so I really don't want to add more to the collection.

What about the LOGO itself?!? If that is ugly, It won't much matter what you silkscreen / embroider(sp?) it onto. I liked the 2004 logo, very original and interesting. I hope the 05 design can be of the same quality.. Who did that one by the way? Anyone know? Pat on the back and a beer to the guy / gal.

If a T-shirt, go with a micro fiber, something that is capable of wicking the moisture away from the body with the MOA on the front and the rally logo on the back. (Spokane- I sure could of used an extra shirt)
Polo shirt, monogramed. either way, be of class that the BMWMOA is............:D

I was thrilled to take home the T-shirt from Spokane after traveling such a long way to get it. The design was fine. I remember they had several types of shirts available incliding sweat shirt styles and long sleeve t-shirts. Maybe the solution is to have more styles in addition to T- shirts. If a golf style or some high tech fabric shirt is the only style abailable, I would guess many riders would be dissapointed to have to spend the extra bicks.

Liked the Spokane logo, but not the color. Also, poor planning not to have more short sleeve shirts available at a hot, summer rally. After the first day all short sleeves were gone. Had to settle for long sleeve.

How about the ability to order your choice of rally merch on-line through the Country Store... and perhaps require a pre-order of expensive stuff like polos and jackets... to be picked up at the rally, or shipped at extra cost.
There are on-line services like Cafe Press (http://www.cafepress.com) that do stuff like this on a turnkey basis with your branding.

ps => I lean toward logos that look like they are for motorcycle rallies.

I'm in favor of something along the hightech fabric line.
I've been wearing microfiber shirts under my riding gear all summer and really like them.
I'm on a self imposed tee shirt moratorium - just too many in the closet now!!!!!

I thought the T Shirt from the Midland Michigan rally was unique in Design. One of my favorites to wear. I just wish they would have had it in a Grey color.
I personally do not like the standard White, and Black is definitely warmer in the sun.
Grey gives you the contrast for a color scheme, does not get dirty looking as fast and is cooler in the sun. JMHO
A polo shirt would be nice, but I do not think a logo on the back of it would look appropriate. The small embroidered logo on the front would be nice.
More expensive, of course, but why not offer it as an option when you pre register for the rally, and pay for it with the registration fee. They could show a design of what it would look like & shirt color options, so you would know if you want one.
All that would be left would be to pick it up at the rally when you arrive along with your Reg. Package.
Because of the cost, The club would not have to lay out money for shirts that may not be sold, only order what is already paid for. If you wanted a Polo, that would be the only way to get it. Just a suggestion.
Hope they start coming up with good designs. This years was OK.

I agree with most of previous: more shirt styles, screen + embroidered & (consequently) more overhead + difficulty with production overruns. I'll take some hits for this but: how about getting a 3 or 4 color station screen print machine? Not Cheap but amortizable across multiple years / events, no overruns, can print off 5 or 10 from a previous event with minimum overhead if requested. Could offer its' services to chartered clubs for their logos / events and MOAs logo as well. Yes, it's another administrative / management task, but commonality of images / media combined with concise production..... it's why print on demand exists. I won't even start on an embroidering machine, I hear choking noises trying to swallow this already. Sometimes stepping into the punch negates its' impact. <<<)))

Don't do away with the cotton tee. I don't wear polo style shirts at all. I don't care for the high tech materials either. I can wear my cotton t-shirt to work and other places and all the high tech stuff is for riding under gear usually. I think having a variety of shirts available as well as ordering from the moa store would be the best solution to meet the various preferences we have among our riding group. I like the small logo front and Rally silkscreen style on back myself. Most of the time I wear t-shirts so collared shirts don't get much use from me in the summer time. A nice denim short or long sleeve would be great with some tasteful logo style on them.

IMHO, the best BMW National t-shirt was the one for the New York Rally in 1983? 84?
It was at the site for the winter Olympics, and the shirts had red/white/and blue insets on the shoulders/sleeves ((not just died, but different material))
Alas, I no longer fit into a "medium".

I've gotten T-shirts from Trenton, Charlestown, and Spokane and enjoy wearing them. My only complaint is that they really don't look like they're from a motorcycle rally. Unless you read all the small print, they give the impession that you attended a campout. OK....I guess the rally is a big campout but I'm vain enough to want something that says "This guy rides a BMW." How 'bout some motorcyle imagery on the shirt? I've noticed that the T's never seem to have a BMW roundel on them either. Is that because BMW frowns upon the MOA using the logo? That being said, I'm proud of the T's I've aready got and plan on collecting a bunch more, no matter what the style!

I like the T-shirts. I collect the T-shirts. I haven't been collecting them for all that long. Please continue to offer a rally T-shirt.
I understand that others might want a polo shirt and support the idea of having more than one style of shirt.

Spokane being my first ralley, was a big event and after getting there, I would have thought that there would be more choice other than black longsleeved shirts. Having said that I bought three of them as I did like the design of the logo:thumb :thumb and the quality of these shirts wasn't bad either.
I would however have purchased a nice polo or two with the rally logo on it too.
Frankly I have enough T-shirts to last a life time and I am turning the most worn ones in oil/wax/you fill in the blank rags.
I understand not every one wants a $25-$35 shirt or can afford them but I think would be nice to have a little more choice.
Maybe a survey among the potential participants may yield an idea of what to get for Lima??
Visian's idea is good too :idea

I like Visian's idea. Why not have the micorfiber and polos available at preregistration. Contract with an vendor with a website and let those who want to pre-pay for the color , style, etc. they want. The club still makes a profit, they have no risk, and if the rider no-shows they can mail it to him.It should be about a certain amount of choice. If riders are willing to pay for an item, then give them the opition. A win -win situation. Just a thought.:dunno

Tshirts are better than golf style. I don't play golf even though we have forty million golf courses here.
Go for quality material! We wear T's all year down south--there is a difference in fabrics. Best is something like Coolmax. They are reasonable in cost now for basic Tshirts.

When I travel, the only cotton stuff I have with me is my socks and underwear. Everything else is some kind of artificial fiber.
And I'm soooooo done with Tshirts with a bigass logo on the front or back. I'm not 18 anymore, so I try not to dress like I am.
But I do dig my Mr. Natural Tshirt that Duner sent me.

just a thought, don't stop at ordering 2XL and 3XL, order some 2XLT (for tall) and some 3XLT's and maybe a few 4XLT's too in whatever shirt you decide on. Most of the 2X and 3X crowd is tall and the lengths on these shirts usually don't cut it for more that two washes before we are looking like Brittany Speers look-a-like with our tummies poking out!
Thats my 2 cents, and I am.....

Maybe we should stick to the T-Shirts. As it is, I went to a local "Motorcycle Mania" rally here in Hampton Roads, I purchased a t-shirt and everything--but I hardly ever wear it anymore. My "OCC" T from Sears gets more showtime than the mania shirt. As for microfiber, I think that would be way over the top for a rally that happens every year.
