Not me--a young university student I know who is a third generation motorcyclist. She does marvellous studio portraits of motorcycles. She is one of 36 on the shortlist for a Google theme. Winning, or even getting to the final shortlist, would be a wonderful start to her career. Please vote for her: http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/photographyprize/vote.html

Her really neat website: http://www.toppersolutions.com/Holly/default.html

Thanks,
The less talented Holly

I loved her design. Then again, I love horse photographs from odd angles.

Yeah, she's into vintage bikes and her boyfriend races modern ones and is an MOA member. Her grandparents owned a bike shop that sold old British bikes, mostly Velocette. Her grandmother never had a licence to drive a car, only a motorcycle endorsement. Neat family.

Thanks Gail and Garfikeat for your votes.

Thanks, all. Voting ends tomorrow so anyone who hasn't voted yet, please consider it. Here is more info on the talented Holly,

Holly’s great grandfather rode a Harley Davidson motorcycle to work every
summer and worked on it in his small shop during the winter. Little did he know that four generations later, his family’s love of motorcycles would be going strong.
1963 Holly’s grand parents, Florence and Bert Harris, opened West Street Cycle in
Brantford. Their sons Marty and Jim rode bikes in enduros, trials, on the track, and on the street. Bonnie, the youngest, met her husband-to-be working behind the counter her parents’ shop. Together, Jody and and their children, Holly and Thomas, have always had something to ride. These days, just graduated
from Ryerson University with a BFA in Photography, Holly has a new appreciation
of the mechanical wonder that is the motorcycle. Having photographed them
in detail through school assignments and for pleasure, her aesthetic
understanding of vintage motorcycles has expanded. As an artist, she looks at the
motorcycle differently. Not in terms of mechanics or power, but in terms of lines, shapes, form, and – most importantly – the people and stories the bikes hold. Her website, Six Gears of Separation, is an exploration into a diverse and endless community of motorcyclists where the bike is just the common denominator.
A photograph is meant to tell a story, and her images of motorcycles hold many:
friendships, adventures, accomplishments...but most of all, a shared passion.

Thanks from the untalented Holly

Holly wasn't picked to the top six, but she can be proud of being on the top 36 shortlist. With her talent, I'm sure she will do well.
