Has anyone mounted driving lights up high around headlight height or higher on their R1100RS? If so please tell how and where/what they mounted them to?

Buckeye,
I have Moto lights mounted on the top caliper screw. These I switch on for day riding and fog riding. The top driving lights are the cheap JC Whitley lights mounted on a RBR Manufacturing Solutions Inc light bar made specifically for the R1100RS. I used these for night riding. All these are controled by a Euroswitch and separate switches mounted on each side of the speedometer housing.
Hope this helps you out.

fwiw, you gain greater visibility be creating a larger "triangle" of light, which comes from fork mounted lights.

I have fog lights mounted under the jugs and Piaas mounted on the forks......I can't help it I want more lights!!!!!:dunno Thought if I got a pair up above or even with the headlight I could better illuminate the ditches.

Well Buckeye, if you can't see the ditches, then you can't drive into them! :thumb Have you tried a 100/80 watt headlight? I know for a fact it will light up the world on the R1100RS. The prism in the head light lens really allows the bulb to light up the right side of the road well. One note. I use to want as many lights as I could get to see the road as I did a lot of interstate night riding. Found out that when you have to dim those lights for on coming traffic, my eyes couldn't adjust quick enough for the dim low light causing me to travel aways without the ability to see....at 80mph, that's a long way.
Bikerfish is right about the triangular pattern for day time riding.

I mounted my 20.00$ fog lights up high. Made an aluminum bracket which mounts just below the oil cooler intake on the fairing. It spreads the lights out but does not get in the way of anything. I did not want them high enough to overpower the turn signals. I would have liked them lower, but they seem to do what I want them to do; which is make me more visable to cagers. I was looking for a cheap home brew method rather then the expensive (to me) moto light option. I've been running these for the last three years or so and they have held up well.
