Took a nice ride yesterday. From Amherst took rt.302 south to Maccan, rt242 south to Advocate Harbour, rt209 east to Parrsboro then rt2 north to 302 north back to Amherst. Not much gas between Amherst and Parrsboro. Road conditions are fair to average for secondary roads, Watch out for one lane bridges with wooden decks. It was foggy and light rain showers but what we could see along the coast was fantastic. If the Feds ever offer me a new identity and relocation I want to go to Apple River LOL. This is not a good run unless you like using the sides of your tires and your suspension and brakes should be in good shape. We encountered almost no traffic but it would not be as good if plugged with motorhomes. It is about a 1 hr run between Joggins and Parrsboro and if there are better motorcycle roads I haven't run them yet.:thumb

Any pictures Mike? While the roads in Cape Breton and many parts of Nova Scotia are a bit choppy, the road around the Parsborro area is somewhat tragic. However, I have found the worst of the worst. A short distance from our place in Larry's River (Guysborough County) is a road through Port Felix. Bombed out! Not just grass in the road cracks (aka pits) but maybe even hardwood trees. GD Conservative government! Anyway, our Salty Fog Rally run does not go through that way on our CB journey. With all the road construction going on right now ( read: election) a lot of road work will be completed by the end of August..... just when a journey through the highland of Cape Breton just excellent! Glad that you did enjoy the gorgeous sites of the Parsborro area. A truely beautiful area. - Bob
