Any recent updates on availability of a good 6 volt battery replacement for the /2?

I've been using some of the sealed batteries for my old bikes. I like the idea of no acid spills. They're inexpensive, too. I've bought mine from Rage Batteries (http://www.ragebattery.com), but there are tons of suppliers out there.
None of these batteries are an exact fit for the battery boxes, look particularly original, nor do they take the same connectors as on the wiring harness. But it's not a big deal to remove the rings and add the blade quick disconnects. I take the opportunity to put an inline fuse on the hot lead.
OTOH, if you're careful and you put your battery on a smart charger now and then, and your charging system is in reasonable shape, you can get original look alike wet batteries from Vech (http://www.benchmarkworks.com).

If you don't care about the same look as original, check with Interstate Battery (B38-6A). I have used one on my 1967 R60/2 and the size is ok, the top cover did not fit, you can paint it black up to the water level line, and the price was reasonable about $50 - $60.

Thanks guys. I think that I'll go with Vech's original style. I do use a Battery Tender.
Maybe when the new one craps out I'll hollow it out and install a small dry cell like I did on my Gold Star. That's the nice thing about a magneto.

I am using a 6V harley (H-3) style battery. This was used on HD Sprint and some older 6V Brit Bikes.

I use the following battery in all my slash-2 motorcycles. It is sealed and holds a charge incredibly well. It is inexpensive (about $30) and sold by Batteries Plus stores all over the country. Now it is all I use.
Using the "S" plug includes a fuse holder and allows the battery to be disconnected and charged easily.

Thanks for the info, Jeff. I hope they will still be available in 8 or 9 years when my current battery wears out. [I replaced the previous battery when it was 9 years old only because the replacement was a gift. The 9 year old battery was still doing its job].
