Hi All,
It is a rainy sunday morning in north central Indiana. A good time to clean things up in the garage. Anyway, I found at least a dozen old rally patches and pins in a box. Most of the pins I put in a printers drawer we have mounted on a wall in the house. The patches, I just put back into the box to save for posterity. I figure Garth will be able to explain to the future generations their significance.;) Anyone have a unique ideal on how to display their rally patches?

One of the things we do at the office is put velcro on the back of our displays so that we can move them around quite a bit. Maybe do a large piece of felt (yup velcro will hold to it) in a frame and then put a small piece of the hook side of velcro on the back of the patch.

Then you can move the patches around if you want to.

All my rally pins and patches are on top of my bedroom dresser, right were I put them the day after the rally. I should dust them.

Bill - dunno how "unique" it is - but I just plaster them on the sides of my toiletry bag (which is a recycled BMW battery charger bag). Added two new ones today from the Mac-Pac rally this weekend!

Hi Don :wave

It is an honor to see the first Damn Yankees Pin (with the secret message no less) on your bag.

Next year's message is ready. ))

I have a BMW flag in my garage. When I get home I put the pins on it.

Best,

Rob Nye

My collection of pins is still growing. So rather than placing a few pins on a big surface, I have started putting the pins on a BMW Motoraad Lanyard. The larger Buttons are currently hanging on another lanyard.

Yo have no idea the can of worms that you are opening up when you mention Velcro to my father. I point to the newell post in our house to drive this point home. Held on by Velcro.

I don't think that he's expecting any anytime soon though. I have a suspicion that both my parents want me to get married first. Yuck, I've got too much riding to do before I even start to think about that. :D

Whoa, Brad !! Time out here. I started this thread thinking about rally patches not rug rats, ankle biters, or curtain hangers.:brow Besides I already have two grandaughters:D :D
Don't get me wrong. I think grandkids are great! I get to spoil them and give them back to their parents.;)
Besides, I prefer that my boys get their degrees and then their careers started first. I know Garth has lots of roads to ride and rallys to see before taking life seriously, (meaning taking a wife and starting a family). Anyway (rant mode off now) I do like the velcro wall idea. Also, I have some velcro left over from the newell post ball fix. Remember the stairway scene in "Its a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart. Our newell post has velcro on the top of it to keep the ball on the post. That is what Garth is refering to.
I also just thought of the sewing the patches onto the rally chair I got at the Biltmore "Ride the Ridge Rally". I guess there are lots of things to do with the patches if a person just thinks about it. Some good ideas have been presented on this thread:thumb

Cheers to yall!:drink

All sorts of hilarity breaks out. I also should let you know that I have covered the RCU shelf on my RT in Velcro. I just Velcro down the GPS and other items. The best one is hanging the gloves off of it.

Ok, the heck with what Bill says!!! I do want grandchildren!!!! :rocker. And velcro is a dangerous thing to say around Bill. We call him the Vecro King around here.
