I rode round trip from my hometown of Red Bluff, CA (http://www.redbluffchamberofcommerce.com/), to Redding, CA (http://www.visitredding.org/), to Burney (http://www.burneychamber.com/), to Lava Beds National Monument (http://www.nps.gov/labe/), to Weed (http://www.weedchamber.com/) and back to Red Bluff.

382 miles – I did this ride in one day.

I turned north on Hwy 139

I found the road leading to the Lave beds, but it was in poor condition! I found out later this was the back way into the park.

Lave Beds is known for its cave exploration

The Lava Beds National Monument Visitor Center (http://www.nps.gov/labe/planyourvisit/hours.htm). This is where you pick up helmets, maps, and flashlights to go visit the caves.
