I'm a new member here and didn't see a thread regarding the above issue. If there is a post already, please direct me to it to avoid duplication.

I have a '95 K75 and the oil/water pump was leaking and apparently had been for some time. I had it replaced in April with a new pump, and now about 3000 miles later, the new one is seeping also. I really can't tell where the leak is since it's hard to see under the bike. I learned today from the company I ordered the part from, the part has been "superceded" and a bulletin has been issued. I contacted the local BMW dealer for more information and they said they were not aware of any recent bulletins issued for this.

Does anyone know if this model bike has problems with the pumps seeping? Is this charactoristic for this model or this part? I did not have the dealer order and install the part for me as their estimate was quite high. I ordered the part elsewhere and an experienced mechanic friend installed it for me. It seemed to install quite easily and we had no concerns with the installation.

Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ann

There were several updates to this pump over the years. I would assume you got the latest one. There have been no updates for the last couple of years. If you bought it from a BMW dealer, it has a warranty as a part and even if another independent shop installed it, the labor will be covered as well provided it was installed properly. All this will depend on the customer service you receive from the place you bought it.

There is an oring that should have been replaced and a definite proceedure for the sealant between the sealing surface of the pump and the engine. There is a bulletin outlining that proceedure as well...a few years ago.
