Hopefully there is someone out there that can tell me (or point me to a concise source) about the K1200 RS/GT. How do previous year models stack up against the 2004 model as far as specs (ABS integral, cruise control, etc). The reason I am asking is I am looking for a used RS with all the safety and performance of a 2004 in the $6000 - $8000 range. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matthew

I am the self proclaimed 'Golden Boy', sent here from a higher power to unite the two main feuding factions of the MOA. I am slowly making my way around to several rallies/events. Better still, I am quietly learning all there is to know about our illustrious brand choice. One day very soon, I (with the help of my minions) will rise up and -BANG- unification just a prophecy states.
So make fun if you wish, but one day....

Now, anyone else have a real answer to my original post?

Thanks
;)

I am looking for a K12 also after riding my friend's and being swept away by its performance.Oi also am a airhead and a past president.Thank you, thank you very muuch.
The only big thing I know is that the 2002 has electronic cruise control, earlier models don't .

Definitely go for a previously owned KRS if it is in good condition. I bought a '99 and it is excellent. Zero problems. The things run and run. I've taken out later year demos during service visits and can't tell a difference... wind, ergos, power, feel, ABS, etc. Well, older KRS's don't have the power assisted brakes (which some do not like), and there isn't a cruise control (I've never felt the need for one on a sporting bike).

Can buy a nice used KRS for about half a price of a new one, and it is essentially the same bike.
