Hi everyone!

I just purchased my first BMW (and second bike ever): a 1999 F650. :nod

Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether or not to get the Clymer or the Haynes manual for this bike?

I will get pics as soon as I pick it up. Also, if any other Classic F650 owners have some tips for this bike, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

I usually buy both aftermarket manuals for a bike, as well as the shop manual. If you do your own work, you just might need all three to sort out the discrepancies.

THE source of information for all things F650 is;

www.f650.com

Look through the FAQs and most if not all of your questions will be answered.

I have both books and I like the Clymer book is the best. It has better illustrations and concentrates on the classic 94-2000 models. I have a 1997 and love it. I bought the Haynes book to learn about the newer bikes. It does not give a lot of information on the fuel injection and ABS systems. I was disappointed in the Haynes book and would not find it very helpful even if I owned a 94-2007 model.

Will you please tell me how you can get the Clymer book? I have looked at the Haynes book... somewhat disappointed with it. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

You never outgrow your need for manuals so buy both. I prefer Clymer but sometimes Haynes does a better job explaining something.

For Clymer manuals you can go to their site. clymer.com (http://www.clymer.com/Default.aspx) and order direct from them.

Thanks. I am not finding a manual for the F650GS. Maybe one is not available.
