Well I need some advice and or help ! 1st problem is it seems as tho I have an oil leak but not for sure where its coming from . Found a small puddle under the bike and it looks like there is an over-flow hole underneath. The oil level is ok but it does look like motor oil. 2nd problem is my friend today was riding behind me and he said it looked as the when I accelerated my bike would smoke but did not look like oil smoke . What might this be ?? Running rich I am thinking . I bought the bike used and know very little on the K-bike can some one give me some hints ?? Thanks for any replies:buds

If the hole where the oil is dripping is at the front of the engine the problem is the oil pump. If at the rear where the transmission bolts, then the rear main seal is probably leaking.

An overly rich mixture will make black smoke and coolant in the the exhaust will make a white cloud.

If you are accelerating hard some K-bikes will puff some black smoke. Most K1200LTs do this and my old K100RT does also if I go from around 3,000 RPM to full throttle. Nature of the beast and how the injectors Vs airflow mix and burn.

Must be main seal then because the hole is about where you are talking about Thanks

It must be whats happening . I know that I can not run anything but hightest fuel in the bike. 90 to 93 octane is what I use. Using anything less it knocks pretty good

I never had my 93 1100RS knock on any gas unless I really lugged it. Has it been tuned properly in the recent past? Not hard to do, not much to it, but every once in a great while, I will even pay to have the dealer tune the engine stuff.

Hmmm I really don't know the answer to that. I was told it was tuned up before I bought it . The dealer gave me all the service records on it
