When birds attack!!

Hey guys,
An interesting thing happened to me the other day. I was outside walking around campus when I stopped at some benches under a few trees. Normally there are mocking birds that nest in that area because they always seem to be singing. Well, that day the mocking bird was there but it was pissed! It tried to attack me 4 times in two minutes, one time it actually hit me in the back of the head!
This had never happened before and I've walked around those benches countless times and seen the mocking bird there without incident.
The only thing I can think that would cause this attack is that I was wearing my BMW t-shirt which has a LARGE logo on the back. When I would turn and face the bird, it would just quietly stare back at me, but if I turned around so that the logo was being shown to the bird, it would attack.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I"ll try wearing the same shirt again soon so I can repeat the "experiment."

Prolly got babies in the tree. Mockingbirds are very, very territorial when they've got little ones in the nest.

do you wear a toupee? it may be looking for nest material. this happened to me a lot and i gave up and went back to pork chop sideburns and a comb-over to get the ladies. ;)

perhaps you had a french fry in your hair. this happens to me quite often. were you really drunk, and did you sleep in the mcdonald's parking lot? that'll do it.

it may also be a staunch supporter of some other brand of bike. go back with full bmw logo'ed clothes on and see what happens. wear your helmet, it's wise to be ATGATT with birds. even a low speed collision could cause loss of an eye, or embarrassing beak scars that will be difficult to explain to others.

If you get The Birds on DVD and zoom on in on your computer you will see all the cast members were wearing some form of BMW clothing and/or logo. Hitchcock was a genius (and a fairly decent female impersonator).

after genius question #2 opened up the bloodflow to my brain, i got to thinking about this one some more. a much more likely theory is that the bird was upset that since you posted this question on the forums, it can never be posted in the ON, and so the bird will not achieve a wider audience for the tales of it's aggressiveness.

it's either that or it thought you looked like wilfred brimley.

The beautiful woman in The Birds was actually Jason Robards. (What the man could do with make-up was legendary.)
