I'm not sure what line you mean. Pressure line from pump? Return line to tank? Vent line? Overfill drain line?
Do the pressure and return lines have quick disconnects?
Generally leaks are from a loose clamp, old hose, or both.

If it is the vent hose (actually, either of the small hoses) the problem is that the fuel is leaking into the line INSIDE the tank. There is a matching hose from the vent pickup on the filler assembly that goes to a stub pipe on the fuel pump plate. That little pipe is about 1/2" long inside the tank and 1/2" long outside the tank. If the hose is deteriorated, or more likely, if the clamp is loose inside the tank where it is submerged in the fuel - then fuel leaks into the line and drips out, or flows out depending on how bad the leak is.

Just went thru this with my '94 R1100RS. All the gas lines and hoses inside and outside the tank were replaced. All had deteriorated over time and with the addition of alcohol in gas , I'm sure excelerated this deterioration. I had added aftermarket quick disconnects years ago and they had also failed. Replaced with BMW parts. My bike was a rolling fire hazzard. My geru Leo Goff helped me correct all these problems. Just to let U know, Ur not the only one that has had this problem. PS I ditched the can years ago.

It is common to notice "leaks" after winter storage.

Just what Paul said.
I went through this last summer. Changed out the fuel pump and had a leak. It was the clamps. I THOUGHT they were small enough. Bzzttt. So I did all new lines inside and out plus a canisterectomy. FWIW that's special line that can be submerged in the tank. Regular line will deteriorate quickly.
