Hi anyone using the Gustafsson windshield ? I am 6'2" and am considering the Plus 8" shield. I am running a Laminar lip on my stock shield but the wind noise is still heavy. How does adjusting the shield angle affect handeling as opposed to a taller shield in strong winds? :doh Lots of questions, limited budget, desire to ride far, any info? Thanks

I can't speak as to using that windshield, but what friends who have tried taller windshields on their K75S' have found - the larger windshield will tend to flex back at the rider at speed, and needs side supports to stabilize it. The 4 screws into plastic nuts that is used for the stock shield is barely adequate for the stock shield - put more pressure on the mounting points and you are possibly going to have trouble.

Just a FWIW.. and FYI..

Thanks for the info. I have decided to hold off on the purchase. Research on this forum indicates that some have had good results adjusting the windshield to a more upright position. I'm trying to make up some wedges that will tip the shield forward 1" at the top screw.

I bought the above shield from National Cycle (http://www.nationalcycle.com/). It served me very well.

I just got a Gusstaffsen shield for my k75s. I got the 4" rise 2"wide smoked. Here is my observations. First off previous to this purchase I had done the 1" offset with the stock shield. It gave me a good 2" of rise. The effect was noticeable but I would not say dramatic. I installed the Guss. with the 1" offset spacers as well. Since the Guss. is 4" taller than the stock shield i thought I would get 4 more inches of height. Not so, because the shield is at an angle you only get 2 more inches of height than a stock shield. Another reason that you only get 2" is, the Guss. shape is designed in a different shape. Also it bends back as you speed up, thereby you lose height as it bends.

I agree with Don. 8" rise is way too much unless you are planning on adding extra support. My 4" rise Guss. will bend back as I speed up. It kinda flaps around as well. Very distracting. Im 6 foot 1" and the the combination of the Guss and the spacers still dont make that much difference. Im considering putting the stock shield back on, forgetting the whole ordeal and live with the bugs in my teeth.
