I was invited to lead a ride at our local Yamaha and Kawasaki shop this Saturday. We (a couple of us BMW riders) deal a lot with them, very friendly and the BMW shop is over an hour away. So I agreed, planned a route and ask my other BMW rider buddy to do the sag. Well, Saturday was cold and cloudy but of course that will not stop me from a planned ride, especially since the ride wasn't in the serious mountains of Colorado just the front range. Not many braved the staging at the motorcycle shop, 3 yamaha cruisers, 1 really nice tricked out KLR, and two harley riders. 20 miles out of town gaining elevation the weather got worse and the yamaha guys went home. 1/2 into the ride the KLR guy took a short cut back to his home and low and behold, the two Harley guys finished the 200 mile loop, temperatures dropped to 36 with a little mist off and on. I was impressed, one guy didn't have a windshield. Got back to the shop and the dealer had an ice cream social going on, I skipped that and jumped in the hot tub.
Life in Colorado. . .it'll probably be 80 this week!

Yeah, the same weather hit us on it's way down to you.
Winter in the Rockies is like the villain in a bad movie; it just keeps coming back.
I'm not surprised by the Harley riders, I know some who are just as dedicated.

Couldn't find that little violin player but it's pretty ugly in Steamboat today, snow on and off all day. Time to crack a couple of bottles of Oilhead Stout. :drink

Definitely getting the same kind of rides in this year by my better half got me a heated vest for Christmas so as long as the road has no ice I can ride. I'm hoping it starts warming up your way - I am planning a couple of weeks in Colorado in late June.

I am glad I wasn't the only one to get in bad weather yesterday. Today it was nice but had to work on step-daughters yard. I am just hoping for nice weather for the drive to Heber AZ for the Road Runners Rally. Bring on the summer and those Harley riders are dedicated and tough.

I managed to stay indoors and out of the weather this week. Last week I got caught in the snow storm (It was rain and hail in Pew-town but turned to snow somewhere between Penrose and Hiway 67) But this is only a primer, you know we always get bad weather for Blossom.
