Well congradulations on the new bike. I am sure that you will enjoy it. The price on the service is a little steep because they need to, "Take there time and do a lot of little adjustments" according to to my dealer. I dont know about where you live but there happens to be two dealers in my area, and there was quite a proce difference in there service rates. You might want to check on that. Good Luck, Ride safe!!!!!!!!!!:clap :clap :clap :clap

The two holes in the rear fender are made for mounting badges similar to that commonly displayed on the grill of some Mercedes. It could be a club, fraternal organization, high mileage, etc. I have one made with a BMW roundel.

The 600 mile service consists of; four quarts of dino, filter, crushwasher, checking the valves, headbolt torque, TB synch, and a lot of other points as perscribed by BMW.

What wasn't smooth about your 2003 GS? JON

Hi Phil,
You did get a great deal, the bike will get much smoother as you put the miles on.

If you want to save a couple of bucks, you can do the fluid and filter changes for the 600 mile service.

Stay within the break in guidelines, but don't baby it too much. You want to seat the rings and get the oil consumption under control.

It would seem that the Tampa dealership would be a good place to find a lightly used 2003 GS...

Very cool. The one thing that I did with the 600 mile service, was the local dealership let me/suggested that I watch/work with the tech on the service. When you get the bike, you are so excited you probably forgot everything we told you. So this is the chance to get to know your bike and ask questions about your bike...

It worked out pretty good and was worth every penny. For me it was getting a better handle on the damping controls that need to be set that were the key item.

Course I don't remember where the heck the oil filter is now.... but hey still pretty worth while.
