Yesterday at approx. 100mph I still had some throttle left but it did not increase speed. I slowed and the engine was louder than usual and I felt it running rough (missing). I stopped and so did the engine. I restarted, it took much throttle, and limped (slow speed and vibrating engine) the 7 miles to home. There, I found the left cylinder was not firing. I replaced the plug, still no dice. I did not test for spark as the bike was going to have to go to the shop and that would be done as a matter of course.
I trailered the bike to shop and will get the diagnosis in a couple of days.
Two questions:
1. Was limping the bike home a bad idea?
2. With the above info, (which is so skimpy as to be useless) would anyone like to venture an opinion as to cause?
I am barely bright enough to know it is lack of air, spark or gas, and that's as far as I can go.
