I didn't know BMW sold fuel additives.... BMW Fuel System Cleaner Plus (http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=44455) for our fuel infected motorcycles.

And gosh, doesn't it look exactly like a bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner...right down to the bottle, size and grooves in it.

You can get the stuff at just about any auto supply and Wal-Mart.

Several brands of gasoline already have it in there at the pump, including Chevron. I like Seafoam when I want to clean things up in the fuel system without removing parts.

It can make your engine run "hot". It carries it's own oxygen, so go easy on the amount added.

I like their Bugs-B-Gone product for dissolving bugs.

Yes - Chevron has some in their gas. And, yes, it helps keep things cleaner. But the concentration levels in the gas are not high enough to do a real good job of cleaning things up once they get gummy.

I dose the fuel in our bikes with Chevron Fuel System Cleaner as part of every major service, in the tank of fuel just before I change the oil. Any carbon or other deposits in the oil thus get flushed away with the oil change.

It matters not at all to me whether BMW has it packaged with their label or not. The nearest dealership is 400 miles away and the one I normally patronize (UPS is great) is more than 1,000 miles away. I would probably buy some at the dealership if I were standing there. I happen to like dealerships. I like them to be at least profitable enough to stay in business. If what they can make on bike sales, parts, service and other stuff is sufficient to keep them in business that is good for me.

And no I don't like paying a lot more for something with a BMW label on it. I don't buy my oil there, for example. Some tires yes, some tires no - depends! Some bikes yes, some bikes no. Parts, almost always.

Techron/Techroline is the best in the business. After the Chevron/Texaco meger, did you see how fast Texaco stations advertised their fuel contained Techroline.
We have Caltex here in Thailand and believe it or not,Techronn is posted on many of their station signs.

I use Techron at every oil change (3000 mi) in all my vehicles. I feel it works great, even on my 20 year old truck with 260000 miles original uinrebuilt engine and original never been serviced throttle body. 1/4 bottle only in my 1159rt though.
