Can't wait to see the new bikes which will surely come out of the purchase of HD by BMW AG. The Boxer King, a Road King chassis with a hexhead engine, and the penultimate Boxer Ultra are surely not far away. Can't wait to see them. :whistle

I'm just excited at the prospect that I can get a biker tattoo that will be BMW Hog appropriate.

And what about gangs? Will there be horizontally opposed branches of the Hell's Angels?

But on a serious note, were this to ever happen, let us hope the new company retains the Harley marketing team.

Another big question is, with a German engine/tranny and all those current Chinese parts, will Milwaukee have to pay an import duty?:dunno

Nice April Fools guys.......enjoyed it.

What happens in a merger of course is that you get the worst of everything.

So look for an airhead side stand, oilhead final drive, old K bike whine, no dealers, arrogant parent company....now start adding Screaming Eagle mufflers, Dyna Glide brakes, handlebar tassles...........Well you get the picture.

Good thing it's an April Fool's joke..............Rod.

My wallet will stay in the left hip pocket, as always. Not on a chain.

Keys will go in another pocket, not hanging on the belt.

There'll be a throttle-blip eliminator, so we don't have to hear brap, brap, brap at every red light.

With a boxer engine, the idle won't sound like: pathetic, pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.

:blah :blah :blah :blah

No matter what they do, you know they will close dealerships.

I think you have it backwards. BMW has made every style of engine except the V twin style of HD. They had a good thing for a long time with the horizontally opposed twins and the verticle singles. then they lost there way and started with an inline 3 and 4 that had already laid over as though ready for death. Then they fooled with a verticle twin and some other modifications to the horizontal opposed twin.

So all that really is left is to go to a V twin such as the Harley and set it in a BMW frame. Makes perfect sense to a company that seems to have lost it's way.

I agree with Rod in saying that we would probably end up with the worst of both worlds. Just what we need: the only 30 thousand dollar motorcycle on the planet that could suffer a catastrophic final drive failure while being transported on a trailer.
