I am seeking out twenty riders to help support the 2009 Seattle Livestrong Challenge bicycle ride on June 21st. Here is the website for the event: http://seattle09.livestrong.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=294734
If you've ever wanted to help moto-marshal a bicycle race/ride, this is your opportunity! There are four different rides utilizing parts or all of a 100 mile course starting at the Seattle Center, circling around Mercer Island, riding through parts of Bellevue, Newcastle, Issaquah, up and over the Tiger Mountain summit, around Lake Sammamish, up and over Cougar Mountain, and around the south end of Lake Washington through Renton, along the lake up to Seattle, and then back across Capital Hill to the Seattle Center.
The rides are 10, 45, 70 or 100 miles long, depending upon the rider's fitness and enthusiasm level.
I've been promised that moto volunteers will receive free Lance Armstrong Foundation swag and will receive an invitation to attend a volunteer appreciation dinner/party after the event.
If you'd like to sign up to volunteer for the Seattle ride (or for the San Jose ride on July 12th, the Philadelphia ride on August 23rd, or the Austin ride on October 24-25), you may easily do so via the event's web page. Scroll down the list of volunteer positions until you come to "MOTO", our category. http://volunteer.livestrong.org/site/c.kkISLcMSJrE/b.5041847/k.74C5/Volunteer_Registration/apps/ka/go/volunteerReg.asp
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM. We'd love to have your help and I know you'll have fun with the event!
