Funny how things go -- we open up this forum area yesterday, and this morning I get (as webmaster for the Vintage club) an email announcing a new tour company in Germany.

http://www.palatina-vintage-bike-event.de

These people have a fleet of /5s and few other Airheads for use on small, 3-4 day tours around the Rhine river area of Germany and France. Touring to the Schwarzwald (Black Forest), Alsace in France and in the beautiful and rolling hills of the Rhineland-Pflaz (Palatinate) state of Germany.

Anyway, I have no connection with them, but I wish them luck, I think this is a great idea, and the areas they choose to serve are perfect for enjoying an old Airhead!

Wow!

The owner is a woman named Sigrid Sauer-Wenngatz ... Sig Sauer! http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/images/smilies/yllove.gif

This is really a neat opportunity. Thanks, Darryl!

I particularly like the description of the brakes on this bike:

I know the early ATE brakes are way inferior to current practice, but that particular descriptor is usually only applied to /2 and earlier machines!
