Folks
I have a 2000 R1200C. The dashboard-instrument panel has just a speedometer. I have noticed that newer models have the Speedometer, Tach, and Clock on the dashboard.
It looks like the newer ones are the same size and mount to the same bracket or tempplate.

I would love to convert my curent 2000 dash-instrument panel to the newer version to the Speedometer, Tach, and Clock on the dashboard.

I am prepared to run a lot of wires. The tach should be easy, hook it up to the coil. (?)

Has anyone done this?
Since it is such an improved dashboard someone MUST have had the same idea. Perhaps BMW has a kit? I know it would probably be easier to get a new bike , but this one is a friend that has been very good to me so it stays.

Thanks for any input.

Are you sure you aren't comparing your bike to the Montauk? The Montauk and the CL have electronics so cruise control is available. The C has an electric speedometer run by a signal from a sensor at the rear wheel; the Montauk and CL don't have that sensor.

You can add a tach, just find a 1:1. There is a nice tach/clock gauge/bracket set available for the C from Reflexx designs.

Have you checked out the R1200C forum www.chromeheads.org and look at the For Sale section, the Reflexx stuff comes up for sale on occasion.

Thank you Montana. I probaly was comparing my bike to the Montauk.
Actually your chromeheads.com tip is perfect. Went there and on the home page is my speedometer in question.

It is actually the tach I am after. I can tell time by looking at my wrist. I just thought that combination one was VERY tidy. I will go to chromeheads.com and root around.

Again, thanks. that tip made my day. I does pay to ask. If you get to Washington stae I will buy you a beer.
Thank

Again thanks. I went to Reflexxdesigns.com and they did have exactly what I was looking for. Tach, Clock & a thermometer for about $500 bucks.

Coming in about a week. I'll see how hooking it up works. It appears that should not be that tough. heck, I would have re-wired the whole cycle.

Thanks for the tips. Both were great, what I had asked and hoped for. I did not know either Reflexxdesign OR chromeheads.org existed until your tip.

The forum worked. Thanks a ton.
