I am doing a paint job for a friend of mine. 1988 R 100 RT. Bermuda Blue paint code 644. Can anyone tell me how to remove the BMW logos from the tank and rear fender. Are they just glued on ???
Thanks for the help.

I have never done it, but I read in another post that the tank roundels can be removed by running floss between it and the tank. Put on a pair of gloves to spare your fingers. Good luck. John

The floss works great. Did it on mine. The adhesive is a black foam with glue on both sides, covers about 99% of the emblem. You cut through the foam with the floss. Then some paint thinner and elbow grease and voila!

Try a heatgun. Sometimes a hairdryer will also work.

if they are the stock 80's (cheap) don't plan on re-using them, gently heat gun works well....

i've removed emblems on cars by heating up a mug of water in the microwave and pouring over the emblem. floss sounds good too.
