Okay, before I go any further let me admit my general lack of mechanical skills.
Trying to drain the oil out of my Rockster. Got the wrench for the filter, but how in the heck do you get the drain plug out? Nothing in the BMW tool kit fits except for a long thing that don't seem to do the job.
Help. Please. I'm supposed to go for a ride tomorrow and I think it works better with oil in it.

Am I going after the wrong thing to drain the oil?

You need a 6mm hex allen wrench, preferably a socket. Righty tighty, lefty loosy. After installing a new crush washer retorque plug to 32 Nm (24 ft lb). Retorque the oil filter to 11 Nm (8 ft lb).

Oil is changed. the four quarts are in. doesn't appear to be leakage.
BTW i used an 8 mm wrench of allen's, but i sure do appreciate you setting me on the right path.

Cliff-

I just purchased the Clymer Manual (https://www.primediabooks.com/ProductDetail.asp?PRDID=1268) that came out on July 31, 2004. If'n you want I can swing up your neck of the woods and let you peruse it before you purchase yer own copy (any excuse for a ride)

Yes, except for forks, all BMW oil drain plugs use 8mm wrench.
