Can someone recommend or advise on Air filters for the 1984 r80rt.

They cost about $22 at the dealer. You can pay less if you order from Motobins in the UK...

The flat-filter Airhead airbox design is a bit weak, as the water drain is on the "clean" side of the filter.

At the lower rear of the airbox is the drain, which is a simple rubber device that should be "sucked" closed by engine vacuum. Ensure it's not blocked open and replace it occasionally as the rubber ages.
