Weird K -Bike Problem

When I went to start my 1991 K100RS this morning a strange thing happened. When I turned the ignition switch to the on position and the radiator fan began to run (the bike was sitting overnight) and the bike would not start. I shut it off went into the house then tried starting it a few minutes later. This time turned the key on and no radiator fan and it started fine.

Anyone ever had this happen?

My guess is that the temp switch had closed before, or soon after, you shut the bike down after the last use, and it got stuck there. There may be a relay involved too.
I have the same bike, and make a habit of letting it idle until the fan kicks in and then back out, to "exercise" the circuit and make sure its working. It seems the fan and related circuitry give trouble from lack of use.
