I have a slight movement in rear tire of 12/6 position. I changed my final drive fluid at 12,000 fluid change and was really happy about a still honey color and no or almost none gray on the drain plug. At 18,000mi. it had more graphite look than at 64,000 mi. Is this a indication of the parialiver bearings going out . 2004 R1150rt.I will try a search but if somebody has a good link in mine it would be helpful. Thanks.

more likely the pivot/paralever bearings are going. replace with bushings- http://www.rubberchickenracinggarage.com/bushings.html
not a bad DIY job, the money you save will pay for most of the tools you'll need (heat gun, low and hi range torque wrenches, etc)

My 04 RT does the same thing. Oils all look good at change time and no strange noises. Never thought about the paralever bushings. May be a upcoming project.

Thanks for replies. I respelled paralever and got some hits. I will be more careful in using the search.

If you want help with this, ping me. I just did this on my 04R, and I'm only 1/2 hr north of you....

Thank you very much. I changed my transmission and rear drive oils today (both looked good) and the slight movement that I am getting is in the paralever pivot. I see an upcoming project. I don't know just when, but I will keep your offer in mind. Thanks again.

I too just changed the fluids on on 04-RT and all looked good. Question. What is this paralever pivot movement you are talking about? How and what am I looking for. Thanks in advance.

The pivot (hex shaped bolt) I am talking about is the one in this photo. The rear housing mounts to the swingarm at this point. It seem the bearings at this pivot can develop flat spots over time and allow some movement at this point. I check for rear wheek movement every oil change (4000 miles) I just detected some play at this springs oil change. After reading the above posts I went and did a closer inspection and determined that the play was at this point and not in the rear housing itself. I had a friend grab the rear tire at 3 and 6 oclock and try to wiggle it while I checked closely to see where the movement was coming from. I hope this helps.
