Well, today was the day. I -finally- got my purchases pried out of the ice, and carted off.
When I arrived, the shed was still under a good 3-4 feet of snow...
So tools were employed.

And a path was cleared.
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj177/Rhiado/CIMG0008.jpg
Finally, signs of bike!

Why yes, it would appear to be a R75/7, in a small shed, under a mountain of snow.

and what's this, over here in the corner?
http://s272.photobucket.com/albums/jj177/Rhiado/R100RS/th_CIMG0014-1.jpg
why, it's a 1977 R100RS( some assembly required)!

Good score !!
The possibilities are great for the /7 !
Are you thinking of doing an authentic restoration, or modify it/trick it out with salvageable RS parts?

And I thought it was bad when I had to use a snow blower to get to bike storage.

THe R75/7 is essentially stock.
the R100RS....
lets see..
dual fire heads

racing flywheel.

and those are the mods I -know of-...
So it's been pretty heavily molested.
So I'm not sure yet about that.

and one of the previous owners of the R100RS was a member of BMWMOA.

And I'd like to get him to explain some of the things he did. painting the fairing with rattlecan black is one of the things I'm annoyed with.

I'd love to get that kind of RS in my garage. And love to take it apart. Probably a lot of trick stuff on that old bike. If a guy lightened the flywheel, likely he's done other stuff. The fairing can be sprayed right back to close to stock, with a rattle can. Look at my 90S on pic. page 55. That's a rattle can paint job, and you can make slight differences which can be appreciated only by yourself. Good Luck.

Rat out the RS! Throw on some chicken bones for good measure and a pad lock. h

That there is an early form of oil cooler. I forget who made those, it was Reg Pridmore or some thing.
For whatever anybody wants to say about the current condition of this beast, it at one time had every cool accessory available. I wouldn't be surprised if you have electronic ignition in there.

yup. At one time Frank ( 77 r100rs ) was a pimpin ride.
I"m going to -try- to put him back together in a manner that will work well, and showcase his retro coolness.
which reminds me
what is the functional difference between
these
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj177/Rhiado/R100RS/CIMG0005-1.jpg
and these
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj177/Rhiado/R100RS/CIMG0008A.jpg
on the plus side, the fairing is in good shape, and is missing only the bottom center, which should be simple to fabricate/fake.

I think you have an excellent project ahead of you, or at least right in front of you. Lots of cleaning, painting, buffing, etc. will make it look pretty, and in the process a little mechanical work and some new rubber bits and you will have an excellent example of a totally "pimped out" 77 R100RS.
As to the difference in carbs. Well, some people prefer the older style to the newer style. From my recollection, people that went to the trouble of the lightened flywheel and dual spark heads usually went with the later style Bings. Helped to breath more life into the beasty. Plus, they don't say Japan on the side of them. :laugh
Keep us informed as you go thru your resuscitation process. Photos are always good.
If you find any more of the "Barn Bikes", let us know so some of us can grab one. Don't keep all the fun to yourself. Spread the fun around.:thumb
