Hi. I'm wondering about the paralever pivot bearings. The manual says that they stay dry. It also mentions that there are other opinions regarding this. Could somebody set me straight, please. Thanks.

Didn't Paul Glaves have an article on this in the MOA News within the last 6 months?

Oops! I meant to say "swingarm pivot".
Those bushings for the final drive pivot look interesting as well. Thanks.

If he did, I'll find it. Thank you.

OK, this what I learned today. Having read the appropriate section of the Haynes manual, like, 6 times it clearly states that the swingarm pivot on the R100GS does not get lubed. I'm having none of that. The pivot pins have holes but no grease fitting. Since the arm is off the bike I decided to build an "injecter block".
Basically it's a 2"x2"x3/4" aluminum plate with a grease fitting. This is installed with a rubber gasket and compressed with a bolt thru the bearing. Pump full of grease, remove block, wipe away excess and press in dust seal. Ready for insallation.

I know there was no interest in this:violin but on talking with Oak Okleshen about another matter I mentioned this tool. He thought it was kinda neat so he wrote it up (and pics:laugh )in the Airmail. Check it out:thumb
