Does anyone have the current factory (oem) torque values for the case, cyls and heads? I've been using haynes/ clymer values but I know there not correct. I hear from alot of places they're way off but I cant find a source for the proper torques.:ear

You're talking the 6 head bolts? I believe I recall hearing several different numbers depending on year, some torques as high as 29 ft-lbs. 29 is just way too high. Seems to me the consensus is really 26 ft-lbs and if you have to err, do so on the low side. 25 is better than 27. Finger tight all nuts initially. Torque the nuts in stages (10, 18, 26 or something like that)...put each one to 10 before moving on to the next stage. Make sure you're comfortable with the calibration of your wrench. I devised the bucket o' water test to find out just what 25-26 ft-lbs was.
