I have one on an 84 R100RT. Works good, but doesn't make a whole lot of difference - shifts where the wind hits you a couple inches higher.

I have had them on several bikes. Not real cheap but a lot better than buying a taller Windshield. When installed it will raise the air stream a couple of inches higher than with the W/S. Can't testify about the winglets though, never had them. They are attached with several round sticky pad like things. The sticky side of one of the pads attaches to the W/S and the other half is stuck to the laminar lip and the halves are joined by velcro like stuff ,so you can remove the lip. I have had some problems with these pads losing their adhesivness and detaching themselves from the w/s. This is caused by the lip being curved to much or too little and not matching the curvature of the w/s, they will then pull away and dirt and or water will get between the sticky and the plastic. But they are effective

Works great for me on my "m" shaped CLC windshield. Look up Laminar lip in researching old posts here and over at chromeheads.org. Ride Safe :usa :usa

Works quite well for lomger days in the saddle. The Laminar Lip I have has done the same thing with the velcro stick on pads. I use nylon bolts from ACE Hardware, one on each side to reinforce the holding of the LIP and kept the velcro pads in place too. Randy:usa

I am a big fan of these here Lips. I had the short windshield on my '88 RT and though I loved the look of it there was just too much turbulence. I didn't want a taller windshield because I did not want a BMW that looked like a Goldwing. I bought a Laminar Lip and, like keelerb says it shifts where the wind hits you AND it also very effectively reduces the turbulence of that air flow. I could keep my windshield lowered and still have reduced wind noise and turbulence.
Same thing for my RS. When I bought that, one of the first things that I did was get rid of the ugly aftermarket tinted shield and get a Clearview replica of the stock 15" (380mm?). That put the wind flow right into my neck and face, lots of wind noise. Again, I went to Laminar Lip and had the same good results. It lifted the wind to about the top of my helmet and that flow was less turbulent than before.
I really like the 3M Dual Lock fasteners because on a very hot day or on a day when I want to be "sporty" I can take the Lip off and stow it. This is the same fastener material that the Illinois Tollway I-Pass uses.

you mighyt also try adding some SAENG Stealth Edging. I've found it helps to smooth and therefore (I suppose) help lift the airstream. Significantly in SOME applications. YRMV

I use a tinted Lamiar lip on my tinted shield on my RS fairing. I really like it. Although not cheap, it is cheaper than a new shield and looks better. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.... :whistle
I have used the SAENG Stealth edging on my Oilhead RT before and found it not working well.
My food for thought anyway....:drink :eat

I had a Laminar Lip on my '05 FJR and it helped a lot. Not perfect but a BIG improvement on what was a very turbulent cockpit. I eventually stepped up to a +3+4" size shield-with-flip from Cee Baily's and that was another level of improvement, never tried the Lip on the CB.

OTOH, I tried SAENG's Stealth Edging on my '08 RT and it made not even a tiny bit of difference!

I know this started as "Laminar Lip" but re: the saeng edging product, we first tried it on my wife's K75C, which had a Gustaffson screen slightly larger than oem mounted. The improvement was remarkable. Subsequently, I've used it on several other screens with widely varying success. The range being from "not at all" to "slightly better."
As I say, though, on the 75C it was very effective.
You'd have to guess variety of factors; size of the screen itself, angle of attack, back pressure etc.
i have both the Lip and Saeng edging on my slightly taller aftermarket RS screen right now. Nada. Bupkis. Zip. I'm still gonna try it on the taller Parabellum I have, which I purchased at a perfect height to batter my brains out and destroy what's left of my hearing. I have very high hopes for the effctiveness of the Laminar Lip when I get it all mounted and riding season gets here. Don't ask me why.

I tried the Saeng edging on a small Nation Cycle windshield on my R80/7. It didn't work for me as it moved the airstream up, but not quite enough. The end result was the wind hitting me square in the faceshield. I left it on for about 5 minutes. Felt like the helmet was vibrating on my head... REALLY annoying. :hungover

It DOES work, but is really going to be different for everyone depending on hardware, rider height, etc.

I'm happy to hear good reviews for the Laminar lip. It doesn't seem like I have much choice in windshields for my K75c fairing.
