Winnipeg - What to do for a day trip?

We are planning on a day trip to Winnipeg Manitoba in August. Any suggested stops or what to do in Winnipeg would be appreciated. We are starting out in the Grand Forks, ND area. We will be visiting family in the North Dakota and Minnesota on the way to CCR and thought it would be fun to drive up to Winnipeg. We would appreciate any ideas.

Take a dinner cruise on the river boat.

At least that's what we did in 1975. :)

VJ's has been voted the best burger in the city,the past 6 years.Outside seating only,park yer scoot next to a picnic table,and have at it.

We go on some great Mosquito Hunt's.........

Got a 2 pounder last year with just a rolled up news paper. Almost knocked the wife out cold when I hit the little bugger.

Just kidding.... we have "smokin hot" summer nights... great outdoor cafes and lots to do..... dead in the winter though na!...... that's why we expect our American brothers to the south to provide us with warm winter entertainment, places to and places see when it's -40 here.

There is a great musem, Zoo, steam train rides, River Road rides and River Boat rides as well as the Forks..... which is the old CN Railway yard and frieght sheds that have been converted into a national historic park. Also have two large casinos with nightly entertainment.... pro foot ball and semi pro baseball......
