Just purchased a 2007 650 gs!

Any thoughts about replacement head light bulbs?

Do I have to spend all the dough for a PIAA replacment? Is there a better alternative for much less?

Where to buy?

Napa (for one) sells a 150/80 watt H7 bulb, although it may not be legal (labeled "for off-road use only") It certainly works!

I thought only an H4 bulb works... not H7?

There are LOTS of bulbs out there that out perform the PIAA bulbs. There are also a lot of crappy bulbs out there.

Sylvania Xtavision (or Extravision) do well. Phillips makes decent bulbs too.
