It's being identified as the BMW SCT 800 Maxiscooter. But if 800cc the machine will be the fastest "scoot" on the road. I notice it has ABS brakes. Fancy!

This will certainly get us a younger demographic:laugh

According to this article it's just a drawing done by someone who lives near the bike factory.

So I don't think it has anything to do with BMW.

Wonder if they'll make a GS version to compete with the Ruckus?

I know your post was a jest but I have to add something to it.

I kind of doubt it will have much impact on getting a younger demographic as I would anticipate that BMW would hang a price tag of over $10k on it, to maintain the "status symbol" image of the brand. You are not buying a piece of transportation, you are buying an "image".

Well, I like it, photoshop or not.

That would be an interesting animal, to say the least!

Call me old school but when I think commuter scooters, Italian names like Vespa and Piaggio come to mind. Fond memories of scoots, minskirts and Napoli, ahh youth....that's another story.
Doesn't BMW manufacture a "covered" scooter already?

The C 1's most innovative design feature is its emphasis on safety. It will be the first two wheeler in the world to offer a high standard of passive safety. BMW claims its crash tests have showed that in a head on collision the C 1 offers a standard of accident protection comparable to modern small cars. The C 1's unique safety concept hinges on the vehicle's chassis set in an aluminum spaceframe configuration with bars welded to one another at specific connection points and, along with a double rollbar, protecting the rider in a surrounding safety cell.
BMW did produce a "covered" scooter for a brief period of time. I have seen one at Bob's in Maryland. Not sure if it ever was imported into USA.

DeSimone had a few of them in NJ a couple of years ago. They did not go over very well.

Saw quite a few in Italy last summer.

I've even seen a few of the covered ones here. I just can't get behind the whole seatbelt-on-a-two-wheeled-vehicle thing, you know?

A few C1's got imported privately, but were never officially sold here by BMW.

The Ruckus almost seems like a step backward compared to the Honda Motra:
