Hi. I have an 02 1150RT. A week or so ago I put a set of Suburban
Machinery bar risers on the bike. But now when I use the heated grips on high I am blowing the fuse. Low heat is not a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I should start looking for the problem? I was careful with the wiring when installing the risers but I must have pulled / broken something.

Any help would be appreciated!

You do have the correct amp fuse installed?

Disconnect the wiring harness of the heated grips from where they plug into on your motorcycle. Are you still blowing a fuse? Just asking in case it happens to be a coincidence.

If you've determined it is the heated grips causing the blown fuse, leave the harness disconnected and hook up a continuity tester (digital multimeter with a beep feature when under 200Ω) to the harness and ground. Move your handlebars about, switch the Hi/Lo switch and listen for a beep. If so, you have a short.
