K75S Timing chain Maintenance

At what time should the timing chain cover come off and checked? Is it based on how many miles are on the bike? What is the general rule of thumb?

You can see everything you need to with the valve cover off. These chains are very long-lived. I wouldn't go in there unless the cover was leaking or the chain was making noise.
