:ca Well, during the winter break, I always go over the bike from one end to the other. Check all those little things that I just did not get to during the riding season. Also, do the oil and filter changes, bleed the brake lines, check all electrical connections, including removing the tank and chekcing under there, and always a tune up and check the valves. I usually flush out the tank when I put the bike away, along with empty the carbs. I also tackle any major work during the off time, such as brakes or tires, and attend to any leaks that may have cropped up over the last riding season.

Then, just prior to hitting the road, fill with gas, check for any leaks, check the tire pressures again, start up and give it a slight warm up. Take for a short ride of about 30 minutes. Bring back to garage and check for any problems.

If all appears fine, then hit the road and don't look back.
