Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas or links regarding tank knee protectors for the K75S?

These are still available from BMW: 16111455450 is the part number for the set. You can see pictures of bikes with them installed by Googling K75S images.

I've seen an aftermarket set on ebay that was finished with that grippy truck bed liner. I'll be in the market for a set once I go to a high seat.

I have a set on my 87 k75c. I bought them to protect the paint on the tank and coverup the already worn spots. They make an already wide tank even wider, and splay the kness that much more, which then also affects foot position. Not an unacceptable condition, but I like the feel of narrow tanks. If I was to do it again, and the paint on the tank was less worn, I'd search for a clear plastic film protector to protect the tank, the type that uses static cling to adhere itself. The tank looks better without them on IMO, not to say that they look bad on.
