I am terribly confused...I took my front wheel apart to grease the bearings and want to put new seals on the axle/hub when I reassemble. I can't read the fische diagram. I am talking about the rubber seals that are on each end of the axle. Should I replace anything else? Bearings are like new. Could somebody out there in Beemerville tell me what the part number is? I think they are the same on each side-its cold out in my garage and I don't want to go look. As usual, thanks.

If you have a rubber seal on both sides, you have a "late" wheel. This would take a 36 31 1 231 701 on the drum side. A /5 normally uses a felt ring with a stamped retainer. Be careful with the retainer and felt; they are sometimes unavailable. You should also replace the thrust sleeves.
