Are Emgo mufflers any good.
Do they have the same back pressure for tuning?

I think the back pressure is probably similar to OEM: I cannot say for sure but the sound is similar. The fit is good and they'll "look" right. THe chrome is not as thick however and the mufflers will degrade sooner. Price is much cheaper ( around 150.00 or so) and they'll freshen up the look of your bike.

I put a set of Emgo mufflers on an 1978 R80/7. They looked real good, for a while. Chrome started to peel off after about 18 months. I took them off, sand blasted them totally bare and painted them a nice semi-gloss black with high temp paint. That worked fine for a couple more years when they finally rusted out from the inside. So I got about 3 1/2 years out of them here on the Wet Coast. Probably could have gotten more in a drier climate.
For the difference in cost, I would go with the MAC mufflers or better. The MACs seem to last longer. I am presently using SITO mufflers as they seem to last the longest of none stainless steel mufflers and are about 1/2 the price of stainless.
