I'm considering a custom saddle for my K1100LT. I had a used Russell that I put on a K100 that I found to be better than the Corbin that came on the 1100. Has anyone used a Mayer and which brother made it. I usually ride 2 up and have enough years left to ride to justify a good seat, but hard to know which way to go. Appreciate any input.

I can't give an opinion on Mayer seats but the 2 Russell seats I have owned were amazing. They build them to custom to fit your behind :D

I just traded my 1200rt for a 1300gt and had Bill Mayer do seats for both. Both times the price was 430.00. I put 15,000 miles on the 1200 seats and they made a big difference in ride comfort. I did the whole thing by phone (number is on their web site) sent my seats in from Florida on a Friday got them back in 10 days. Here is a pic of the 1300 seat. Hope this helps.

I had Rocky Mayer (Bill Mayer Saddles) build me a saddle for my K1200RS and I love it. Excellent fit, finish, and comfort. I'll add that I know both Rocky and Rick and have a lot of respect for both of them personally and for the products they sell. I prefer a seamless saddle more like what Rocky makes, but I have no doubt I'd enjoy one of Rick's saddles as well.
I too have a K1200RS and need a new seat. Can you post a pic of yours? Does it do good on long rides (at least a couple hundred miles)?

I'll get a picture up the first part of the week. Tomorrow I leave for a weekend rally riding my K12RS and the Bill Mayer saddle. In my experience I find it good for up to a thousand miles a day. :thumb

I was real pleased with Sargent - Super cell foam carbon fiber like cover, BMW Flag, fast turnaround and abourt $300.00.

I had Rick do my R1100S saddle, which took it from being torture after about 400 miles to one which allows 1K days. He has already rebuilt it once for me, free- his standard policy is a lifetime guarantee.
He also did the saddle for my KLR, which took it from being a 30 mile saddle to an all day comfort one.
He will be doing my F8GS saddle later this summer as well.

Rocky reworked the saddle on my GS. I rode in and had it fitted which releived the pressure on my wrists and a tendency to slide forward which is typical of stock seats. I like this saddle a lot, have not tried any of Rick's work but do like the seamless look from Rocky.
I have a Corbin on my 1100 and had oen on the 1150RT. Ilike a hard saddle and the corbin works well.
The K100LT and the K75 came with Russel Day Long saddles what were not fitted for me. They perform well except they make my butt sweat a little because they are softer.
The corbins were a pita to fit to the bike becasue they don't use th eoriginal seat pan, and rumor has it that the customer service experience could be inmproved.
On 1K days it a toss up between the three but the Russell is probally easiest on the backside.

THAT is the understatement of the year!
I had a Canyon Dual on my K75, and transferred it to my K11 when i sold/bought the bikes. When it came time for a new one (after 10 years of use), i went with a Corbin again. Took 2 returns on the new saddle to STILL not get it right- quality control issues that should never have happened.

Ha! Thanks for the reminder! I'm just going out to the garage now to finish putting the wheels on my K12RS with their shiny new Z6 tires for the ride to Johnson City. I'll get some pictures and get them posted tonight or in the morning. :thumb

It's worked very well for me, and is a major improvement over the stock saddle.

I have a Rick Mayer saddle on my K75, and he's the man when it comes to getting it right. They know the typical issues all K75 have, Germans must be very large up front since we American's all seem to slide forward on the factory saddles...:whistle
I had Rick add 1.5" to the height and slighty rearward for a better placement, made all the difference.
