My dealer is physically moving this week, so it isn't the best time to contact them.
I was cleaning my 2009 F650GS when I noticed that the front brake rotor was loose. I got a wrench and had to tighten every bolt that holds the rotor. These bolts were inspected and tight just 2,000 miles ago. :cry
I'm a little concerned that all the bolts came loose in such a short interval of easy moderate speed street riding.
BMW had to recall the sprocket bolts because theywhere not installed correctly. Is there also a problem with the front brake rotor bolts? has anyone else anyone else verified that your rotor is securly tightened after 2500 miles ? :nono
I have tightened all the bolts. They all needed about a half turn of the wrench to secure them. This should be ok until my dealer relocates to their new location and has a chance to look at the bike. I am now checking the tightness of the rotor every time I stop the bike. I now have a very low confidence level in the bike.
This is just an other reason why my buddies laugh at me for buying a new BMW. Unfortunately BMW's are becoming legendary for being unreliable, and requiring the dealers under the warrany to correct the factory's errors.

Sounds like a one off problem. If they laugh at you perhaps they're not your "buddies"

That is not good... I am traveling and can't look it up in the manual, but I wonder if the bolts are pre-coated with locktite or if locktite should be used on these bolts?

Unfortunately BMW's are becoming legendary for being unreliable....
Nah! They're envious. Just ignore your buddies and enjoy the bike.
I fault the dealer for failure to perform a proper pre-delivery inspection and servicing.

There is a recall on these bolts. Basicly thread lock and a higher torque.

While howling through the corners in W.V. on my brand new 1986 Yamaha Radian I noticed a knocking sound and a bit of hammering when I hit the brakes. Oops!
When I pulled over, I found the front right caliper dangling by one bolt. The top bolt had worked it's way out. Yikes! I was near a little mom & pop store so I turned around an headed there for whatever help I could find. The owner, an older fellow had a muffler shop out back. We scrounged around and found a threaded rod (VW motor-to-muffler studs) and two metric nut. I torqued the two nut onto the threaded stud and slowly fitted it into the fork threads, reattaching the loose brake caliper. I gave him some cash and rode all day w/ that set up. I had some tools and checked the set up frequently, no problems.
At home, I got the bike into the dealer asap, the owner was amazed that the VW bits fit! And, he was very apologetic about the overlooked bolt. I think someone got a clinic on preparing motorcycles for customers, that day.

I heard from BMW today, and the dealer called it a "recall" and said that it applied to the F650GS only.

Supply on the new bolts and the anti squeak spacers have been an issue. Call your dealer to set up an appointment. In the mean time snug down the current bolts. The problem bolts are a torx. The replacement bolts are allen.
