I've looked for similiar threads in both the MOA and Pelican Parts (R1100S Site), but my problem has yet to be resolved. A couple of days ago, I went to ride to work. The light came on, but no fuel pump sound. The bike would turn over but no start. I rode the SV to work, and tried the bike again when I got home. The fuel pump cycled up, and it started, no problem. The next morning (about 18 degrees), the fuel pump didn't cycle. Today I took the bodywork off, check fuses (good), swapped relays, removed gas tank, removed fuel pump, and tested fuel pump. It cycled when power was applied. I tested the three pin fuel plug at the mounting plate on the tank. Pin #3 had 12 volts continious, Pin #2 didn't have the 2 second 12 volt reading that I read (in threads) that it should get. In retrospect, my troubleshooting was flawed. I don't believe that I needed to take the tank apart after I found I wasn't getting proper readings from the plug. I bought the bike with 17k(just hit 20K), and I figured I'd change the filter while I was in the vicinity. If anyone has guidance, I'm very interested. My local shop is great (Cape Fear BMW), I prefer to perform anything that I can on my own though. I'm leaning toward the Motronic at this point, but there may be more tests to perform before heading to the dealer. This is a stock '99 R1100S, no ABS, no heated grips. Thanks, Dave
