Rally Report

A few random observations from the rally:

It was HOT...

It was fun

There was lots to see, but not ride..grrrr

Did I mention that it was HOT?

I met lots of folks from the board... Boxer girlie, Manic Mechanic.. Helen2Wheels..Chase?... Every was as nice as I expected

Tent camping spaces were gone by Thursday afternoon. If you got there after that, you were REALLY scrounging for a spot.

One last thought... LIMA, OHIO?!?!?!?!?

Time to do laundry and wait for my ears to stop buzzing...

But was it hot fun?

I finally cheezed out on Saturday night. Took a room with
some AC.

If you want to make the buzzing go away, try some custom
moulded (sp?) ear plugs. For added pleasure, speaker plugs.

I went, I saw, I rode!!

Had a great time in Spokane. Met a group of K1200LT riders Friday morning for breakfast, then took off for Mt Spokane. Spent the ride up peppering the riders following too close with gravel that had been put down recently as part of a chip sealing project. Came down off the mountain and headed up to Tiger on Highway 2, then crossed over to Colville for a romp back to town on 395.

Sat next to a local group of harley riders that were giving a BMW rider in their midst a hard time Saturday morning as we ate breakfast. Something about the synthetics we wear, and all the gadgets we have attached, fastened and hanging off of our rides (what a day to have the unigo trailer attached <G>)! Wife shared with them a t-shirt she had noticed at the rally site. Big harley wings with the inscription "If they made airplanes would you fly in them." They invited us on their ride to Newport!

Also chuckled all afternoon after reading the sticker on Helen2Wheels bike parked in her booth. Always thought she was a nice girl <W>!!

Had a blast. Will do it again down the road!!
