Anyone remember the trick from about 20 years ago where you could increase the fuel pressure by squeezing or compressing the fuel regulator?

I seem to remember one method was to use a press and a socket to compress the regulator. Does anyone remember the compression distance?

The other was to use a big pair of channel locks :banghead

Greg - I think I've heard of this, but why would a person want to do it? :scratch

Still trying to 'squeeze' more out of that SE project, eh?
I don't remember the trick, but do remember that at the time, there were higher pressure pumps from (shoot the name just excaped me....SoCal firm doing turbos on the Ks and Rs of the time, did the 200 mph on a K around '97....).

Yes, that was it....Kari probably knows the correct spelling, but yes, Leuftmeister sold the various stage upgrade hotrod kits including a higher pressure pump and other necessary items to allow that.

A mechanic from Bob's BMW was telling me that there is a way to compress the stock regulator to get some more psi's out of it. He said that it is a tricky process and of you over do it the regulator must be replaced. Unfortunately I can't remember the mechanic's name but he's the one that rides the ratted out black K-bike to work; i'm sure they'll know who it is based on that description.

I think Luftmeister use to sell an upgraded fuel pressure regulator rated for higher fuel pressure. It was a direct replacement for the stock regulator.

I've got an old Luftmeister catalog somewhere around. If I can find it, I'll post the specs.

I think the turbo kits Luftmeister used to sell were designed and produced by RB Racing. Appearently, Luftmeister and RB Racing had a business relationship that went south. I think RB Racing was the competent/ethical side of the relationship.

If you are looking for a higher pressure fuel regulator, you might be able to get one from RB Racing. They still make motorcycle turbo kits per their website.

If you want to read more about the Luftmeister/RB Racing relationship, check out the "Eat ****" tab on the RB Racing website.
