I'm replacing a side bag on my '96 K1100RS that has the lock on the flip up latch. I know that I can remove the lock out of the bag turning the key a certain way, but I havn't been able to get it out, and I'm afraid to force it not being certain that I'm doing it properly.
Please advise!

There is a tang on the end of the lock cylinder. You need to place your key in the lock, then use a paper clip to curl around the end and push the tang down. Sorta like this:

I have a 1991 K100RS with hard bags and top case. None are keyed the same. Does anyone know where I can get the parts to key them the same? I asked my local BMW dealer and I was told that there is no way to do that on cases that old.

Well, what I did with mine was remove each lock with its respective key, then changed the key to the one I wanted to use. The link plates that need modifying will stick up slightly, and if you file the additional material down, everything works fine.
Obviously, this method compromises overall security a bit (since a larger number of keys will work), but frankly, its pretty easy to bash in the sidecase lid with a large Maglight if anything wants to steal anything inside anyway.
