Anyone going to the Calgary Motorcycle Show on Jan 9-10-11? I was thinking of Friday night or Saturday... will not be in town Sunday...

I haven't decided yet if I'll get there this year. We went last year and my wife ended up buying a F800ST. I already have an F800GS on order, so I shouldn't risk any further lures :laugh I will wait to see how the weather is and if I can find an accomplice to take it in or not.

I hear you. That's how I bought four bikes in two years. I ended up getting my wife an F650GS a few years ago - and then my VStrom... and now a pair of STs. I think the buying fever has run its course - well as my cash so it would be just to take it all the sights and sounds and get the juices going for riding in the spring.

I went down to the show yesterday afternoon. Good show overall, much like other years. It wasn't too busy early yesterday afternoon which was nice for getting to see and sit on the bikes. Saw the MOA booth which is new this year for the Calgary show. :thumb Hope they can sign up a few new members here. Got a few leads on products, but didn't buy anything..... yet.

Great to see the MOA booth there - I might have gone if I'd have known about that. I almost went because my wife is tallking about a smaller bike for commuting/short inside city riding to add to the stable but didn't make it. Today is out due to a trip up to Edmonton and back - oh well doesn't sound like I there was too much missed.

I really enjoyed this year's show; went on Sunday. As far as I could see, the major manufacturers were all there. BMW had the new K 1300's on display, which were pretty cool, and an 800 GS. But the neatest bike there was Dave Larmour's BMW R2. First time I have seen one of these beauties.

But just as we were about to leave, tucked away in a corner, we spotted an MOA booth! It was manned by Martin Hobbs, who is an ambassador from BC, another BC Beemer, and an ambassador from Spokane (sorry I don't remember all their names). They said they had signed up about 100 new members. And a nice bunch of guys they were; it felt like old home week.

Are you on the Rocky Bow e-mail list, yet, Bog? There are things coming up.

We hope to do all 3 western shows again next year. The MOA is doing very well in western Canada, doesnt hurt to have a new BMW dealership in Kelowna! Valley BMW Riders is growing fast also!

Yes, I stopped by the shop in Kelowna last year on my way back from California and the guys were nice enough to let me into the back of the shop and add some air in my tires. Friendly folks and a welcome sight after a pretty cold and wet trip over the top from Harrison Hot Springs the day before.
