I'm not schooled in electrical wiring. I can follow directions, take things apart and
put them back together.
I have a new basic Autocom system that I want to wire to the battery.
I have used it with a 9v battery so far - plugged the GPS and radar into it.
I have all the connectors needed to wire to the bike's battery.
I've read a little about putting the Autocom unit under the seat - but this
seems odd because the unit has volume adjustments on it.
I also have Gerbing's heated gear that requires (I believe) a 15amp fuse.
I have various Gerbing's wiring for connecting directly to the bike battery,
although the fuse is mounted at the battery end of the wiring.
CLC battery is under the gas tank (thanks BMW).
I also have a radar detector and GPS (Zumo 550).
I occasionally use a ipod with ear buds on longer trips. I prefer the ear bud
sound vs the autocom speakers.
Overall question - how to put all of this on the bike in a way that makes sense
and, more importantly, WORKS!
Thanks - sorry this is so long.

Well, don't worry about trying to put anything under the seat. There is no room under yours.

Second, click this link: http://www.chromeheads.org/discus/messages/6/33049.html?1230936509

That's the chromeheads tech forum for electrical issues, you should find lots of solutions here. Or try this one: http://www.chromeheads.org/discus/messages/9/9.html?1230938351

That's the forum for Product Reviews in general, you'll find subtopics for GPS and for communications and music.
