I have a 1999 R1100S. I had it in the shop for routine service. The mechanic noticed a crack in one of the mounting brackets for the transmission. He told me his bike had one also. BMW is sending a new frame. Has anyone else gotten a new frame? As long as my bike is apart I am thinking of powder coating the frame. Anyone have any experience good or bad with powder caoted parts?
Thanks

One drawback to powder coating is that if whatever is underneath starts to crack you wont see it. The coating will strech quite a bit before cracking itself.:uhoh
